The Youth Section of the Camping and Caravanning Club is designed for members who are 12 - 18 years of age. Eastern Region will pay for your first years membership. You will be trained in various aspects of good camping which includes cooking, first aid, map reading and tent erection. The training leads up to a test which upon passing, will enable you to travel abroad with the Youth Section, this year Slovakia, next year Portugal, and also camp by yourself on any of the Camping and Caravanning Club Sites. If a Youth Area is available at a rally you will be able to set up your tent, away from your parents in an area dedicated to the Youth Section.
Good news from previous appeals for help, we now have new youth leaders in East Essex and Mid Anglia.
We are still looking for leaders for South Suffolk, Fenland and West Essex. So please, please, if you can help contact us at the usual address.
For all youth aged 12 -18 please contact us or your DA youth leaders to join the youth section.

Price will be £10.00 for the weekend and will include a meal on Saturday evening

at Stanhope Showground near Durham we are arranging Mini Buses (1 from Norfolk plus 1 other) we need your names early to arrange the best pick up points. Cost will be £12.50 for the camping plus transport
at Scarning East Derham Norfolk. A fantastic weekend with Christmas party, visit from Santa, Bowling, Disco and much more.
Price is £7.50 for the weekend and will include Christmas Dinner Saturday and Breakfast Sunday.
Bring a wrapped present to the value of £ 2.50— Remember we dress smart for the Dinner

2008 Young Achiever of the year award
This year the competition is open to anyone in the Camping and Caravanning Club aged between 12 and 17 years of age. For full details regarding the competition see page 17 of the February edition of Camping & Caravanning.
Each Region and Section will also select a winner in the 12 – 14 and 15- 17 age groups.
The Regional winners will receive a cheque for £100 and a Young Achiever Certificate. Winners of the Regional and Section competitions will be entered along with the winners of entries submitted direct to HQ to select the National winner. The two National winners will receive a cheque for £250 and an invite to attend along with their families the NFOL.
Entry is by way of completing a questionnaire which can be obtained from the Regional Secretary at secretary@easternregion.co.uk or
online at campingandcaravanningclub.co.uk/youngachiever.
Completed questionnaires need to be returned to the Regional Secretary at the address shown on the questionnaires by 1 May 2008.
