Record growth for Camping & Caravanning Magazine

Camping & Caravanning Magazine is celebrating its strongest circulation performance for five years.

The Camping and Caravanning Club’s official publication recorded an average net circulation for January to December 2008 of 219,381, according to figures released yesterday by the Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABC), the independent body that verifies and reports on media performance.

That total represents an impressive increase of 10,339 copies, resulting in a year-on-year growth figure of almost five per cent.

This latest statistic only helps reaffirm Camping & Caravanning, relaunched in November 2007, as the world’s longest established and largest circulation monthly magazine for all forms of camping.

Editor Simon McGrath is delighted with the latest ABC figures and said: “We are immensely proud of this achievement and the result provides us with strong foundations upon which we can further develop the magazine.

“Since the relaunch in November 2007, Camping & Caravanning has evolved at quite a pace with the help of valued feedback from our members.

“We are naturally cautious about the current economic conditions though whilst we are not immune to these tough times, as a Club we are currently experiencing good growth.”

The Club’s Marketing & Communications Director Matthew Eastlake added: “It is fantastic to have witnessed the Club’s membership accelerate at such a rate over the last few years and we are now hoping for an excellent 2009.

“The potential is there for more people to holiday in the UK this year whilst hopefully keeping British pounds in Britain.”
